About Richard Wernette
Mr. Wernette grew up on a family farm in Idaho. He obtained his bachelor of arts degree in political science in 1982 from Idaho State University where he graudated with high honors. He obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1985 from the University of Idaho College of Law and in 1986 began his practice in Walla Walla.
Law Practice
Mr. Wernette has a successful law practice which includes areas involving family, criminal, vacating convictions for people giving them a fresh start, business, personal injury, wills and probate. He has had the privilege of serving as College Place Municipal Court Judge since 2003 and Walla Walla County Superior Court Commissioner since 2005.
Family
Richard and his wife Debbie have three children, Wendi, Cara, and Weston. Debbie has a college degree in education and is employed as a para-educator with the Walla Walla Public Schools.
Community
Mr. Wernette has volunteered his time to the community, serving as board president of the Lillie Rice Center and the Blue Mountain Action Council. He has also enjoyed being a YMCA youth sport coach for several years.
